Dokki Aims To Complete Herald Business/YTN Double

The heavyweights of the Korean staying ranks will line up in the twentieth running of the YTN Cup on Sunday afternoon.

The race has attracted a field of ten gallopers, with eight of them coming out of the Herald Business Cup four weeks back.

Cheongdam Dokki , winner of the Herald Business Cup looks hardest to beat after the To Honor And Server gelding won the first leg of the 2020 Stayer's Series in brilliant fashion.

The chestnut worked forward in the Herald Business under minimal urging from Park Tae-Jong, setting up a strong pace after taking the lead and subsequently proving too hard to catch in the Korean Group Three.

Cheongdam Dokki has won fourteen of his twenty-eight starts, including the 2018 version of this race when he took out all three legs of the Korean Stayer Series.

Last year's winner Moonhak Chief is a notable exclusion, with connections struggling to get him right for his racing return.

Herald Business Cup runner-up Tiz Plan will line up in the event as he continues to impress at the highest level.

Johan Victoire will partner the Tiznow five-year-old once again, with barrier our he is likely to position behind the leaders once again.

Buhwarui Banseok, who is one of two runners that did not line up in the Herald Business, has the ability to change the complexion of the race.

The Bart Rice trained galloper had speed to burn at his latest start, winning a Busan Class One event by five lengths over 2000m.

Interest lies in whether the seven-year-old will be ridden in similar fashion, and what effect that will have on Cheongdam Dokki.

If Buhwarui Banseok and Cheongdam Dokki get into a speed battle early, it may leave the latter vulnerable in the final stages of the race.

Another beneficiary of a solid tempo will be Shamrocker, who has been ever consistent at set weight contests for quite some time.

The seven-year-old has not won since July 2017, but has placed on six occasions from eleven starts in Open Class company.

He is known for settling well back before working into the race a long way from home, normally doing his best work when the race has been decided.

Another Busan representative is Rock Hard Seven, who finished off well in the Herald Business Cup.

The six-year-old was campaigned over the shorter distances last preparation, before being stepped out over a longer journey and eventually performing well in Class One company.

Stallion Rock Hard Ten has had plenty of success in the staying ranks since joining the roster in Korea, with Rock Hard Seven his best performing galloper to date.

The twentieth running of the YTN Cup gets underway at 5.10pm Korean local time on Sunday afternoon.

Korean viewers will be able to tune into the broadcast of the feature live on YTN News Channel.
