Scenic Blast was foaled in 2004 and was by Scenic out of the mare Daughter's Charm by Delgado.

Trained by Danny Morton, he raced on 31 occasions, launching his debut in fine style when he won the Listed Supremacy Stakes on debut when ridden by Jason Brown in 2007.

Danny Morton described Scenic Blast as the perfect racehorse. He had the perfect temperament for a sprinter, being very relaxed, but when it was time to race, he would switch on with instant power. Morton described it as "freakish acceleration" and this power made him exciting for riders and crowds alike.

At his first start, Scenic Blast won at Listed level. He then went on to be runner up in the Karrakatta Plate in his first preparation. At the age of three, he was taken east where he won the McNeil Stakes at Caulfield. As a four-year old he reached his peak. He won the major sprint races at Flemington: The Lightning Stakes and the Newmarket Handicap, both with spectacular finishes and he became the hero of the 2008-2009 Australian racing season.

In 2009 Morton accepted an invitation to run at Royal Ascot in England. Being a relaxed traveller, Scenic Blast settled well in the UK and in the presence of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth he won the Group 1 King's Stand Stakes. In doing so he proved the international dominance of Australian sprinters.

Scenic Blast was named Australian Racehorse of the Year and Australian Champion Sprinter in 2008-2009 and raced until he was a 7-year-old.

He ran his final race in Brisbane when unplaced in the Doomben 10,000 in 2012.
